This meal cooks itself! Just add ingredients to slow cooker and forget about it.
Add pork shoulder (or other cut) to crockpot. Add 3 cloves of garlic and 12 ounces of root beer. Set on High and cook for 5 hours.
After several hours, meat should be cooked and falling apart.
Remove pork from crockpot and discard liquid. Remove any bone or fatty skin and “shred” meat by gently pulling it apart with 2 forks.
Return meat to crockpot and add 1 1/2 cups Barbeque Sauce (more or less depending on size of pork).
Continue cooking on High until heated through (30 minutes). Lower temperature to Low or Warm and serve with sautéed spinach.
